The Milken Family Foundation

Realizing Human Potential

Since its founding in 1982 by Michael and Lowell Milken, the Milken Family Foundation has sought to unlock the power of human potential. MFF's mission — to help people help themselves and those around them to live productive and satisfying lives — has guided its efforts for three decades.

Under the direction of its Chairman and Co-Founder Lowell Milken, MFF's innovative programs have forged new pathways in education, health care, human welfare and community service.

The philosophy that has guided Lowell Milken to develop many of the country's most groundbreaking education reform initiatives is that young people are not only our greatest natural resource, but our greatest national resource.

Lowell continues to focus MFF's work on strengthening America's public education system by increasing teacher effectiveness to ensure that young people have access to the skills, knowledge and experience required to compete in a dynamic global economy.

To further its goals, MFF has also supported over 1,000 organizations worldwide that share a core commitment to empower individuals, community and society to become catalysts for positive change.
